Great Gable Lake District 05/10/01

The gang of intrepid mountaineers on Great Gable, picture taken just off the summit only because of high winds at the trig point at 3596 feet high, unable to stand up.

The fourth member of the party was taking care of global positioning system back at HQ, at Wasdale car park base of international rescue head quarters making sure of our safe ascent of the mountain.

Over all the weather was very good for us during the stomp, but Friday night and Saturday morning early on, it just lashed it down. By the way mountain in background of picture is Great End next on the list, about 50 to 60 feet higher than Great Gable.

All the best Clive, Peter, Steve for a bang on weekend.
