Testimonial Jon Bosenbach

Introduction:-

My goal for 2006 was to get super fit. The challenge was to walk to Everest Base Camp (5364m) 16500ft and the summit Kallar Patter (5504m) 17200ft.

(Total trip time to EBC nine days & 10hrs, plus the walk back)

My own training routine was ticking along nicely, three to four times a week at the gym and through out the year leading up to trip I planned walks in Scotland & Lake District.

With walking in the Himalayas, you are unable to get fit as you go. Walking for eight to nine hours a day with the altitude taking affect you need to be fit before you go.

The ultimate stomp from Gorak Shep 5:00am start, 10hr walk round trip up Khumbu ice field to Everest Base Camp, a lot of stamina is required. My endurance levels needed to be moved on leaps & bounds to see this event through, I have a good mental attitude & the drive & enthusiasm to train solo but I needed to up my game.

Jon Bosenbach was the "Personal Trainer" to reach my goals, move the mountain.

It's harder for a fit chap to get even fitter, Jon discussed my levels of fitness & end result required to achieve my goal. Ten weeks leading up to my trip, we trained together at the gym studio; running, skipping, sparring, short circuit training. John taught me with his vast experience and expertise in this field to achieve my goal, my heart rate monitor graph showed a vast jump in personal fitness. I could do more & more as the weeks continued, recovery rate after each endurance training was getting shorter. Jon would introduce harder exercises teaching me style & technique to get the best from each exercise.

As Jon's training program moved on it was a vast improvement for me. The knowledge Jon passed on to me. I use in every training session.

It was a great pleasure training with such a nice chap. And I would not hesitate to call on Jon to further improve my fitness levels in the future.

Kind Regards
